We’ve found out about some events coming up over the next few weeks that we thought would interest our Cotuit community.

The Civic Association is not specifically involved in any of these, but they touch on the areas that we care about. If you have questions on these events, we’ve included the organizations responsible for each one.

Digital Equity Workshop
Tuesday, November 12, 2024

The Town of Barnstable is working with the Cape Cod Commission to develop a municipal digital equity plan to assess the digital divide across the community and to identify opportunities to advance digital equity. The goal is to better understand the challenges that community members face with the internet and technology and to identify solutions that ensure all have access to the information technology needed to fully participate in our community.

The Cape Cod Commission is developing a Vision Zero Action Plan for Cape Cod to identify and eliminate fatalities and serious injuries from vehicle crashes for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and drivers. A series of public meetings designed to educate and inform the public about the plan and gather feedback will take place in November.

The Cape Cod Vision Zero Safety Action Plan is funded by the Federal Highway Administration through the Safe Streets for All discretionary grant program. Future Land Use Map Public Comment has been extended
