Please join me in thanking Civic Association board members Mark Stranberg for his two years of effort to have the Air Force flyover at the July 4th parade and Lisa Vasiloff for her tireless efforts in planning and coordinating the parade. Also, thank you to residents Brenda Nailor for fastening the pins on 1,000 ribbons; Patty Daley for buying six American flags and hanging them over the graffiti at the Cotuit School; Jared McMurray, of J. McMurray, Inc., for donating his time and equipment to mow the grass around the Cotuit School; and Pat Lentell for finding Jared. As the saying goes, it takes a village, and these volunteers stepped up.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 20, 7 p.m., at Freedom Hall. The Cotuit-Santuit Civic Association will hold its brief annual meeting. Following the meeting, citizens and the non-profit Cotuit Community Center, Inc. will present an update on the Cotuit School and gather public input.
Please come hear the current status and participate in a workshop to identify possible uses of a renovated building (or portion of the building) and potential uses for the grounds in the event of demolition. This input will help to inform the discussions going forward. Please take advantage of this opportunity to be heard and attend the meeting.
